Lambikin's Happenings Newsletter - Winter 2006

As 2006 quickly approaches, it is a wonderful reminder that we are about be embark on our 4th year in business. While 2005 saw many first including our online store and Yarn Source, we have just as many plans for 2006. We have been hard at work planning a multi-day seminar bringing a nationally known teacher to Lambikin’s Hideaway. We will be sure to let everyone know all the plans as soon as they are finalized. We will allow as many students as possible, but class sizes will be limited.

Our online store is officially up and running. While it was launched a little later than we would have liked, we couldn't be happier with the results. Virtually all our knitting needles are available for purchase online, as are many patterns. We have over 20 different yarn lines currently available and we have plans to continue to add new yarns and patterns weekly.

Yarn Source Passion, our own yarn line, has been selling very well. While we ran into some unexpected changes, we are extremely happy with the outcome. We have many customers working on scarves, sweaters and shawls. Passion works up to be light worsted weight in 150-yard hanks for only $10.95 each. This is 100% pure silk from India. We are certain if you compare the quality and yardage with silk yarns from other companies, we have the best deal on silk anywhere. Passion comes in 20 custom colors and is available for purchase either at the store or online.

Just as in fall, we are offering an incredible array of classes for all skill levels. We are proud of the classes we offer and are confident you will be challenged, learn a new skill or technique, and above all else, have fun! As word spreads about the quality of our classes, so do the number of students. We limit our classes so everyone gets the attention they deserve. Please take a look over the class schedule and if you see a class you would like to take, please call or stop by the store to register and reserve your spot. We try to offer our most popular classes at least twice in order to accommodate the demand.

Coming Soon

Malabrigo
In the three years we have been open, I have never seen such excitement and demand for a line of yarn. Our first order of Malabrigo came and went in just over a week. That first order was over 35 bags of yarn. The next order was over 50 bags and it flew out almost as fast. We have now placed our third order and we have been told it should be arriving in February or March. We will let everyone know when it ships so pre-orders can be made, or you can simply be put on the call list. We hope sometime soon we will be able to offer Malabrigo online, but for now the demand at the store is just too high. In case you haven’t heard, Malabrigo is a hand-dyed 100% Merino wool yarn in 215 yards hanks for only $10.95.

Tiboodoo Baby Kits - Now Available!
When we first saw the new Tiboodoo baby kits, we all fell in love with them. We currently have 3 different styles in the shop as samples. We have 5 of each style on order and expect to see them in January. Tiboodoo kits come with a pattern and enough Anny Blatt yarn to complete the project. I would encourage everyone that loves to knit for children to come see the available kits. There are many styles to choose from and each style can be ordered in many different colors. If you have a project in mind, please stop by the store and we can show you the catalog and place an order for exactly what you are looking for. Please note, it might take a bit longer than normal to receive these kits as they are very popular.
